Trainer Skills

Trainer Skills

The trainer skills course does consist of a variety of key elements important for the delivery of a product. Transfering your knowledge to a group of people seems easy but what if these people start to ask questions or seem to know better? What if the group has been send to your training against their will, they do not see the value of the training? What if the group is very exited and wants to know more than the course content? How do you transfer your knowledge and skills in an exiting way to ensure all information has become the student knowledge and skills. With other words how do you ensure the delegate becomes competent in the knowledge and skills within the scope of the training.

Standards and documents used during the training

During the training you will use different documents from different industries relevant to your working environment. Several examples of documents are the OPITO safety policy, STCW training manual, GWO taxonomy and code of conduct, NOGEPA handbook and OSHA guidelines. The layout and examples of your training documents can be used to create a tailormade training to your needs. Recently all learning objectives from the GWO Instructor Qualification Training have been integrated as well as the USCG requirements for teaching staff.

Duration of the Training

exosfeer believes in immersive training. Before the training a verbal assessment will be performed. This assessment will determine the start position of each delegate. Delegates with the same starting position will be gathered in a physical training and receive a training with a duration to ensure competency.

The training duration is therefore between 4 hours and 16 hours with a 50-50% theory-practical balance.

The exosfeer trainers skills training combined with the competence assessor training covers all learning outcomes of the GWO Instructor Qualification Training as well as the OPITO Didactical requirements.
